Great article! I fit in with this description quite well, I like to have high quality goods but turn to eBay or Amazon to get good deals on them. I also am a bargain hunter when I can be to save on staple goods while being able to purchase 'hip' products for myself. Coming out of college, I am not concerned that right now I am not with an abundant amount of money but since us Millennials are go-getters, I think we have the mentality that we will always find a way to get money and it will come when we need it, so we never truly find ourselves in a dire state. We have felt the impact of the recession as jobs are more scarce, and we also do not have many bills to pay for yet so we do not have the financial stresses that others have.

Great combination of insights Carol! Smart marketers should really do their research before trying to separate us Millennials from our money. The point I agree with the most is it's not only about the sizzle anymore, it's about the real benefits. Not to say that the benefits have to be tangible only, but they should be relevant to us/our demographic.

Speaking of being "recessionistas," I subscribe to sale e-blasts from companies like ShopItToMe.com and Groupon and often check my DroidCoupons app to make sure I'm getting a good deal when I do shop. The problem is a vicious cycle though: receiving these coupons makes me long to shop more because I think I'm getting a good deal I just can't pass up!

Thanks for the mention!
