Now that Thanksgiving has passed, the holiday season is officially upon us. The Millennial enigma continues to puzzle many when it comes to gifts this holiday season. While everyone is busy deciding on whether they have been naughty or nice, let’s take a look at some of the top brands that make great gifts for Millennials:
1. The North Face touch screen gloves
Winter is right around the corner which means Millennials are breaking out their scarves and gloves. The North Face brand now offers gloves that have a special material on the tips of the fingers that is compatible with touch screen devices. Overwhelming majorities of Millennials own smart phones or some sort of touch screen device that can be a nuisance during the cold weather. No one likes to have the cold weather nipping at their fingers every time they have to send a text. Now, that is no longer a problem.
In recent years we have seen a decline in cable subscriptions and an increase in the use of online video streaming sites. Millennials are opting to forgo cable in lieu of less expensive options like Netflix. Netflix is a low cost commitment and opens up the door to hundreds of movies and TV shows that are readily available 24/7. Gifts that allow Millennials to maintain their busy on-the-go lifestyle that are relatively inexpensive are ideal.
3. Wine of the month club
Millennials are the youngest legal drinkers and account for the core wine drinking segment. Millennials are also changing the way the wine industry is marketing its products. Lighter flavors and more interactive brands are winning with Millennials. Now, Millennials who drink wine are twice as likely to be a member of a wine club. For a monthly price, a wine of the month club membership is a great gift for a Millennial who likes to entertain and enjoys experimenting with different flavors.
If you’re looking to spend a little more on a Millennial gift this season, Beats by Dre headphones are a great choice. Originally created to produce music at a high quality, Beats have taken on a new meaning. Now, Millennials opt for Beats as an accessory and fashion statement. Beats are available in a variety of different colors and encourage creativity and self-expression.
5. Cold hard cash
Finding the perfect gift can be hard so when in doubt fork it out. Many Millennials are in the process of paying back student loans or starting families for the first time. Cash or gift cards are the gift that keeps on giving and allows a Millennial to decide what they want to do with the money. Whether its to spend it on something they’ve been wanting or putting it away in the bank, a cash gift allows a Millennial to make their own choice on exactly what they want.
The holidays are meant to be a time of joy, cheer, family and friends…however the perfect gift never hurts. Brands that align with new Millennial trends will be the best gifts this season. Millennials want products that allow them to interact with their friends, maintain their on-the-go lifestyle and align with Millennial values of creativity and ease.
