I’m going to make this a two part video series, and I’m going to cover two trends in Part One.

Trend one: Millennials live in the extremes. They start with kale at breakfast and by the end of the day it’s pizza – with kale, of course. It’s this extreme behavior of being able to eat really healthy one day and binge the next day that a unique balance into their lifestyle.

Trend two: Millennials want to make sure they get it all. They’re Day Traders – the ultimate Day Traders. So, they want a good price, but they also want packaging that’s enviro-friendly. They want food that’s flavorful, but they don’t want to pay a lot extra for it. They are day-trading all of the time. They want to be able to get what they want when they want. And in foodservice, when it comes to flavorful – all bets are off. There is no risk in trying something super extreme because if I don’t like it, I don’t have all the ingredients I have to use the next day.

Be sure to stay tuned for Part II of this series where I will discuss the last three food trends you need to keep up with the powerful Millennial generation.
